Making a lasertag game from spare parts, ESP32 and ESPNow

Having a box full of 'Orbs' that formed part of an RFID based game (as seen at EMF Camp), I figured I could reuse them to make fun lasertag targets.
All they needed was the ability to receive infrared signals. So the orbs were reborn into a lasertag. Communication via ESPNow and the game running on a ESP32s for comms, and a RaspberryPi to display the scores.
This talk will dive into how ESPNow communications works, linking ESP32 with a RaspberryPi, and the headaches the resulted when deploying it.
