Social pace ride from Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead riding South on the Arizona Trail, crossing Sahaurita Rd continuing south on the Arizona Trail for 4 miles to a spot where the first Forest Boundary gate is called Cloud 9, then turn around and head back downhill to the start. This is a Intermediate friendly ride due to distance gradually uphill on the way out, making for a fun, mostly downhill ride on the way back.
Total mileage will be 24 miles. We will stop for a rest and re-group frequently.
There are several options to turn around and head back to Gabe Z. TH. Since this is an out and back ride, you can actually turn around at any point. The climbing is mostly gradual, with a few steep sections. Suitable for most riders. We will be stopping at intersections as needed. No one left behind.
Make sure you bike is in good working condition and you must wear a helmet to ride. Have sunscreen, enough food to keep you going, and at least 2 liters of water.
We will still maintain social distancing since we don't know who is vaccinated and who is not.
WAIVER, RELEASE, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISKS
I/we hereby waive, release and discharge the Meetup group Southern Arizona Mountain Bike Association (SAMBA) and its officers, ride leaders, volunteers, employees, organizers, sponsors, members, and ride participants from any and all claims for personal injury, property damage ,or death resulting from my/our participation in any Southern Arizona Mountain Bike Association event.
I/we acknowledge that mountain biking is a high-risk sport. I/we realize there are certain dangers inherent in the sport of mountain biking, and I/we assume these risks with the full understanding that injuries may result from my/our participation in any event.
I intend this release to discharge the above-named from any and all liability arising from or connected in any way with my/our participation in any event, even though that liability may result from the negligence or carelessness of the above named.
I/we certify that my/our bicycle is suitable for safe use in all events, that I/we are in good physical condition, and that I/we are able to complete the event. I/we agree to wear a bicycle helmet properly adjusted and fastened and approved by SNELL or ANSI.
I/we have read this waiver and release and fully understand its terms and agree that it shall be binding on my/our heirs and assigns. I/we consent to emergency care at my own expense if injured or ill.
