Beginner Backpacking Overnight Workshop (Crystal Cove • Small Group • Weekday)

New to backpacking and not sure where to start?

I’m hosting a small-group beginner backpacking workshop at Crystal Cove State Park (Upper Moro Campground) in Laguna Beach, CA.

*Please note, you are welcome to join us for the hike and instruction at camp, but you are not required to spend the night!

This is a hands-on overnight trip where you’ll learn:

• Gear basics + backpack setup
• Tent setup + campsite selection
• Water, food, and cooking systems
• Beginner-friendly backpacking skills

Details

• Date: Saturday, April 29
• Distance: ~3 miles to camp (moderate uphill)
• Group Size: 7 people max

Cost

• Free (tips appreciated, not expected)
• You must book your own campsite (~$30) at Lower Moro Campground

Important

• No water at camp — bring all water you need
• Must be comfortable hiking ~3 miles with a pack
• You are responsible for your own gear + food
