What we’re about
The Southern Oregon Nordic Club promotes the experience of backcountry ski touring and snowshoeing in Southern Oregon by:
- Organizing volunteers to maintain winter trails (diamonds, signs brushing)
- Organizing outings for ski touring and snowshoeing
- Providing trail maps of snow parks
- Advocating for protection of the backcountry experience
- Contruction and maintaining shelters as well as stocking them with firewood
- Teaching Nordic skiing skills to members
- Organizing social events for members

Our goal is to have trips frequently offered to the Meetup Community using this Website. Meetup members are welcome to take a few trips without becoming members but are encouraged to pay their dues eventually. Event organizers need to be paid dues members and all participants must sign a liability form available on our website. Please email me if you would like to organize an event.

Mt Shasta Ski Weekend
Location not specified yetMeet at the Nordic Center at 9:00 AM both Saturday and Sunday Mornings. They are offering skate ski lessons on Saturday morning for an additional $20, but you need to go to their website to reserve your lesson time. The also offer classic lessons most anytime too. Daily trail pass for seniors is $20.

Some of you may also decide to ski somewhere else in the area.
Come down for a day or the weekend. Motels can be rented from sites like Bookings.com. On Saturday we will meet at Mike and Tony's for happy hour and dinner at 5:30. Also, we will try and meet for breakfasts too.
