Trail Maintenance - Summit Trail System

Do you like to cross-country ski, snowshoe or just be out in the woods?
This will be a joint activity with the Slopes and Trails Club. The Nordic trails in the Summit System (East flank of Mt McLoughlin) is a very popular trail system since it is so close to Medford. The trails are marked with blue diamonds so skiers know where the trail goes, and these markers get broken over the years, or sometimes the trees they are attached to fall over. Teams will be formed to walk selected tails within the Summit System and repair or replace blue diamonds as needed. Alternately, brush clearing with limb loppers also needs to be done. There may even be some chainsaw cleanup needed if you're into that kind of work.

Work will be done on both Saturday July 19th and Sunday the 20th. Come one or both days, or better yet, overnight camp with Mark and Daryl somewhere in the trail system. Camping is also possible in the area at Lake Of The Woods, Fourmile Lake, Fish Lake, Willow Lake, and other locations.

Take pride in your local trail system and come on out and help us! Or just come and camp. Work is not required.
