Folk band led by Janet Ayers for adult beginners and improvers. Bring your acoustic instrument(s) and learn folk tunes from UK and Europe by ear. Lots of lovely easy tunes and melodies. £5 on the door. Bring a notebook and pen and water to drink (bar open in the pub).
Come together at Havelock Community Center in The Garden Room to play music together.
As a group, we will each choose a song to play, find the chords and the lyrics and then play it together.
The group is beginner friendly but it is important that you can already play some chords on the guitar as we will jump straight into the songs.
Come along and join us for a drum circle! All abilities welcome.
Come and watch the open mic acts with some rum at Rapscallions. Or maybe if you like, bring your guitar (or whatever instrument), get on stage and play yourself. Each performer will get one free drink.
If you want to play, then all you need to do is turn up on the night and speak to Ian. We keep an informal list, so if you are first then you are welcome to play early. But if you turn up late, then you will generally be on the end of the list after everyone else has had their turn first.
It can sometimes get quite busy, so if you are bringing friends then it is advisable to book a table in advance.
