Sometimes reading a full novel can be a bit much for a book club. Maybe you’ve only just found out about the event and don’t shave time to read it, you’re not sure whether you’ll like it, or you’re part of the Slow Readers Club, like me!

Join us this Saturday for a short stories book club at the Glad cafe. Feel free to chat about the novellas, or not, whilst enjoying a hot drink and a sweet treat.

Have your pick of the following titles (or both!):

The Forester’s Daughter by Claire Keegan
When Deegan finds a gun dog and gives it as a present to his only daughter, his wife is filled with foreboding at this seeming act of kindness. As the seasons pass, long-buried family secrets threaten to emerge.

White Nights by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
A young, lonely man strolls the streets of St Petersburg contemplating his solitude when he happens upon a young woman in tears. The two strike up a conversation and soon become friends, meeting up at night to share their stories.
