Waterton Canyon Friday Bike Ride
Details
The Waterton Canyon trail provides a beautiful ride along the South Platte River. It's home to a plethora of wildlife (Rocky Mtn Bighorn Sheep, deer, rattlesnakes, and I've even seen a bear), and because the road is wide and flat, it is a pretty easy 6-mile ride up to the dam. From the dam, we'll continue up to the single track (start of the Colorado Trail), and ride up to the bench (maybe a mile and a half).
Since this is an out and back, folks can ride as far as they want and then turn around. Since the road is gravel, you need either a mountain bike or a gravel bike. If you are planning on doing the single track, a mountain bike would be best. Reach out with any questions.
The parking lot for the trailhead is quite large and there should be plenty of parking on a Friday morning; I'll be at the crosswalk at 8:55am. We will begin riding at 9:05.
If you sign up, please show up unless you change your RSVP (even if you have to change your RSVP at the last minute). I completely understand that things come up.
