Beginner Multi Surface (Gravel) Ride

Southwest Bikes

Friday at 7 PM we are offering a beginner "Gravel" Bike ride beginning at Southwest Bikes.
We will begin at Southwest Bikes for about 4 miles of pavement to the Racel side of Floyd Lamb Park. About 4 miles of groomed pea gravel, this is perfect for beginners! and back to the shop for a total of 12 miles.
Sounds fun right? Southwest Bikes has these styles of bikes available for rent or purchase. Please wear a helmet, water, a spare tube, lights and proper tools.
If you have questions on what Gravel or Multi-Surface riding is about, give us a shout, we will be happy to help!

7:00AM -- Southwest Bikes Sunday Morning Group Ride and Gun Range Ride

Location visible to members

This is our CLASSIC Sunday morning ride starting at 7:00AM. Promise of smooth sailing begins on Tenaya at an easy pace and head through Silverstone. We then head up Decatur and to the top of the Shooting Park. We regroup at the top and then coast down. We reverse the route back through Silverstone and at this point some people decide to head back for coffee (approx. 25 miles total). Others head out to the batch plant along the 95 frontage road. Then it's usually a trip up Grand Teton and back down to the bike shop and Starbucks (approx. 40 miles total). This ride is moderate to fast but we do not leave anyone behind. Plus did I mention the coffee afterwards?

We do mix up the riding a bit. This is not our only route but it is our most frequent. All our Sunday Morning rides start and finish at Southwest Bikes and are focused towards the intermediate rider. We do welcome beginners and adjust our pace to those involved with this ride. If we have a large turn-out, we will break the group in two, and attempt to have a group for slower riders and another for more advanced riders. If you are new but have a desire to ride in a group setting, you found the place, just let us know. We are a fun
