Enjoy an evening at the MN Landscape Arboretum! This time of year, the Arb is still on their summer schedule, but with earlier sunsets we can catch a bit of golden hour before the grounds close at 8:00. There are blooms and busy pollinators everywhere, and a fraction of the usual weekend crowds.
We'll meet at the plaza right outside the main doors to the Oswald Visitor Center. You have the option to stay with the group or wander off where the spirit leads you (we will stay mostly in the area by the visitor center). And of course, you can come early and take advantage of the 3-Mile Drive, the Farm at the Arb, or other attractions as well.
All levels of photographers welcome, bring whatever equipment you want (even if it's just your cell phone).
The area we will be in has paved trails, so no hiking footwear necessary. The Snyder Building closes at 7:00 and there are limited restroom facilities after that (the restroom down by the Three Mile Walk trailhead should be open until 8:00). Bring whatever water and snacks you want. I didn't have a problem with mosquitoes or gnats when I was there this week, but you may want to bring bug spray just in case.
If you do not have an Arboretum membership, cost is $20 with an advance ticket (https://arb.umn.edu/Tickets) or $25 at the gate. If you have an Arb membership, you do not need an advance ticket, but can just pull up to the gate and show your membership card.
Optional socializing/refreshment afterward at the Perkins in Chaska. Event is also cross-listed on Stitch.
