Hike Old Plank Trail East toward Harlem from downtown Frankfort, 5.4 mi or Less

The weather on Thursday is projected to be in the low 70s and sunny which is pretty good for an afternoon hike.

This is a Thursday afternoon hike beginning at 4:00 PM starting from the municipal parking lot EAST of White Street and NORTH of Old Plank Trail in downtown Frankfort. Hike at your own pace eastbound on Old Plank Trail for about 50 minutes out to the pond by Harlem Ave./ Illinois 43, turn around and hike back to the starting point. This should be about 5.4 miles total or less if you want to turn around earlier.

The route is completely paved, flat & lined with mature trees. There are toilets north of the trail just west of White Street and there may be porta-potties at the Plank Trail Park opposite Prestwick Golf Course near the Harlem turn-around point.
