Hike Hickory Creek Preserve, LaPorte Road Access, in Mokena, IL, about 4 miles

Details
This is the LaPorte Road access to the Hickory Creek Preserve, NOT Hickory Creek Junction, where we more frequently hike, so make sure to check the map if you haven't been there. Access is to the eastern segment of the Hickory Creek Bikeway.
We'll walk about 4 miles out and back on an easy paved path through nice woods and prairie. We will turn around at the Frankfort Township offices along Route 30, aka, Lincoln Hwy. Since it's an out-and-back route, you can always turn around earlier if desired. There are some side trails so we can extend this walk to 5 miles if you like.
The weather is projected to be 90 degrees, sunny and dry. It should be a great day for a hike. It will be hot, which is why we're walking in this shaded location, but be sure to bring some water too. You should also consider sunscreen, a hat, and bug spray.
