The weather on Thursday is projected to be about 45 degrees, partially cloudy, and dry. Not a bad day for a hike.

Yankee Woods is a great opportunity for newcomers and for those who prefer a shorter, easier walk. This is a nice 3.1-mile loop on a flat paved path, mostly wooded. There is an opportunity, near the end of the hikek, to take a side trail for another 1.4 miles or 4.5 miles in total.

This is the purple trail, part of the Tinley Creek Trail System, around the George W. Dunne National Golf Course. Be sure to use the forest preserve entrance (NOT the golf course just north of the preserve) and go to the second (further) parking lot, the one we usually park at. Dress for the weather!
