Annual Pilcher Park Earth Day Workday and Wildflower Walk
Details
Everyone seems to enjoy our annual Earth Day clean-up activity at Pilcher Park. This is a fun and easy way to "give back" a little for all the outdoors gives us. As before, we'll collect trash from a few parking areas up the road from the Nature Center. Garbage bags and some trash grabbers (not enough for everyone) will be provided but bring your own gloves if you have them.
In addition, this is our annual pilgrimage to see the beautiful wildflowers at Pilcher Park, including fields of bluebells which hopefully will be at or near their peak. I'll bring a wildflower identification guide and point out the ones I know. This is a large, lovely wooded park with many trails, both paved and unpaved, not difficult. Plan on no more than about 2-3 miles since we'll also be collecting garbage and stopping to look at the flowers. You can always stay longer and hike further on your own.
Information and a trail map are available at:

I won't be collecting the $1 donation this time, putting you to work instead.
Note: this location is NOT the greenhouse and can be tricky to find. Leave some extra time if you've never been there.
