Hike Country Lane Woods, 2.5 or 4.3 miles
Details
The weather on Thursday afternoon is projected to be sunny, dry, and about 80 degrees at 4 PM, dropping to 77 by 6 PM. That's a little hot, so let's try to get some shade.
This is yet another group favorite. Please note that we're starting from the Country Lane Woods parking lot, not the Little Red Schoolhouse. We'll take the tan trail down the old country lane to the yellow trail east and back up around the loop. We can then cut off back to the parking lot for around 2.5 miles or continue up and around a larger loop to add 1.8 more miles. This is a very nice, wide, mostly flat crushed limestone trail, mostly shaded by trees, but, at this time of year, that is not very shady.
It will be kind of hot, so bring water, a hat, and/or sunscreen, and perhaps some bug spray for possible ticks.
