The weather on May 7th, Thursday afternoon, is forecast to be in the lower 50’s, partially sunny, and dry. We'll return to Hickory Creek, LaPort Rd access, where I hear the side trails are very well marked now. So, provided they are not muddy, we'll take the side trails down to the Frankfort Township offices (about 2 miles) and then return on the paved path to the parking lot. Because ticks are rumored to be abundant this year, you might consider wearing long sleeves and using bug spray; there may also be mosquitoes in the area.

This is the LaPorte Road access to the Hickory Creek Preserve, NOT Hickory Creek Junction, where we more frequently hike, so be sure to check the map if you haven't been there. Access is to the eastern segment of the Hickory Creek Bikeway.
