The weather prognosticators say that it will be mostly sunny with temps in the low 80s, but it will feel like the high 80s on Tuesday. This hike offers some shade, which should be welcome with those temperatures.

This hike provides a great combination of history and nature. We’ll hike south on the old I&M Canal towpath for about a mile then turn into Lockport’s Dellwood Park for nearly two miles around two loops before returning up the canal, about 4 miles in total. If anyone wants to do more they can continue up the canal path to the relocated historic homes, or down toward the Joliet Ironworks, or explore downtown Lockport.

I'd suggest you bring water, a hat or sunscreen, a smile & perhaps bug spray.

Let's meet in the parking lot for the Illinois State Museum. The lot is adjacent to the museum, just north of it.
