Explore North Head Trail - A Scenic Beach Adventure with Picnic

Join us for a scenic hike on the North Head Trail in Cape Disappointment State Park! This beautiful out-and-back trail offers stunning coastal views, lush forests, and a moderate challenge suitable for hikers of all levels. After the hike, we’ll enjoy a picnic near the North Head Lighthouse. Here’s what you can expect:

What to Bring:

• Comfortable hiking shoes
• Water (at least 2 liters)
• Picnic food and cooler (to be transported by my wife)
• Weather-appropriate clothing (check the forecast)
• Sunscreen and hat
• A camera or smartphone for photos
• Cash for park entry fee

Important Notes:

• Meeting Point: We’ll start promptly at 10:30 AM, so please arrive a little early to get settled at the North Head Trailhead.
• Parking: There is a fee to enter Cape Disappointment State Park, so make sure to bring some cash for parking.
• Weather: Even if it’s hot in the Vancouver area, it can be much cooler and possibly rainy near the beach. Please be prepared for changing weather conditions.
• Carpooling: We highly encourage carpooling as parking might be difficult. I’m happy to carpool with those who are also spending the night in the area, as my wife, dog, and I are camping there the night prior.
