Hamilton Mesa/Mora Flats loop

This is a loop hike in the Pecos Wilderness that starts at Iron Gate Campground, crosses Hamilton Mesa, drops into Mora Flats and then climbs out of Mora Flats back to the trailhead. I expect wildflowers on Hamilton Mesa in mid-June with beautiful views of Pecos Baldy and the Truchas Peaks. It is a strenuous hike, about 12 miles, with about a 1,800 feet elevation gain. The round trip drive is 94 miles, so passengers pay $10 to the driver. The last 4 miles to Iron Gate Campground probably requires a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
