Pre-peat of Carolyn's trip for those on wait-list or who can't make her move to Monday. Longer hike to lakes than if you start at Cowles, but in her opinion, a much prettier hike. It is a strenuous hike, about 12 miles with an elevation gain of 2,300 feet for Stewart or 3000' to Spirit. There will be wildflowers along the first part of the hike, which follows the Holy Ghost creek. It is an out-and-back trail, so this event will be split so more can go, and the team of Norma & Andrea will debut as ModPlus hike leaders!
The round trip drive is about 90 miles, so passengers pay $8 to driver. Bring your Federal Park Pass and we can save 2 miles RT by parking in the campground. Since it is Father's Day, that may be our only alternative anyway!
