What we're about

South West Founders is a monthly meet-up for people based in the South-West who have been, are, or want to be tech start-up founders. We aim to connect local entrepreneurs with co-founders and other like-minded people as well as tech investors to create an informal support network.

Our focus is on scalable and disruptive tech businesses. We welcome entrepreneurs and tech investors with open arms, but discourage freelancers, consultants, lawyers and other service providers unless they have a genuine interest in founding or mentoring start-up businesses. We have a strict 'no selling' rule at our events.

The format of the meet-ups is very casual. Turn up, sign in and get a name badge which will tell everybody who you are and what you've come for. The badge also has one other important purpose - it will get you free drinks at the bar courtesy of our sponsors. Please check out their links on our page.

International Founders: Swindon Founders Go International!

Swindon Founders is a core part of our community, once a month initially which increased to every other week at the start of lockdown - we've talked to founders about the challenges of managing people, raising money and how it's really not as glamorous running a business as many people think! We've also covered key topics of communication, storytelling and self-education - there is a lot to juggle when you run a business and the purpose of this group is to support each other, build new connections and maybe even inspire a few new ideas! For the Tech Swindon Summit week we're going international - talking to founders outside of the UK to talk about their business journey, how they have found 2020 and their goals for 2021 - has this year been a challenge or an opportunity? Speakers TBC - sign up and we'll let you know who you'll be listening to nearer the time! Fancy watching some of the old meetups - you can watch the videos on our Face Book page - https://www.facebook.com/techswindon/videos
