iNaturalist Training and Field Practice

Would you like to contribute to community science data while learning to identify living things in the wild? Join us to for an introduction and tips on how to use the iNaturalist APP. This APP records observations of nearly any type of living organism including: frogs, plants, snakes, spiders, insects, and trees.

Sams House naturalist, Shannon Steele, and Chelsea Miller, Space Coast Audubon member will deliver an overview of the application for approximately 45 minutes. Following the presentation, participants will be set free to explore the Sams House gardens, hiking trails, bird feeders and any space where leaving creatures can be found to capture observations and practice the skills learned.

Please download the iNaturalist APP prior to the class as the WiFi is a bit unreliable and cell signal can be spotty. Be sure to grant access (permission) for the iNaturalist APP to use your phone camera.
