This is a 7 mile run down some of the most pristine water in Florida. We will meet at Juniper Springs Recreation Area at 8:30 am to unload boats and wheel them down to the start of the run. We will shuttle ALL cars to Juniper Wayside and bring the fewest number of cars back to the start.
From the website:
"Named one of the top 25 canoe runs in America by ReserveAmerica and typically a high point of a visit to Florida, Juniper Run is a narrow, winding waterway set under a dense canopy of old-growth forest and few places solid enough to get out of your canoe. The seven-mile journey starts just below the springs and follows the spring run through the heart of the Juniper Prairie Wilderness to a take-out off SR 19, well before the run empties into the St. Johns River at Lake George. Juniper Run is popular year-round. Please keep in mind that thunderstorms may be frequent in the summer.
There is a fee of $12+ tax to enter Juniper Springs.
There is no fee to park at Juniper Wayside.
NOTE: Disposable items such as water bottles etc. are not allowed on the run.
Bring PFD, whistle, water, bug spray, sunscreen, snacks.
AND REMEMBER EARLY IS ON TIME.
