Blue Cypress Lake Paddle

It is time to go back to Blue Cypress Lake near Vero Beach. This is a Osprey nesting area, in which between March and June. Hundreds of Osprey come to have their young. Beautiful, off the beaten path, Blue Cypress Lake is the largest lake in the Treasure Coast and Indian River County. Public access is a small park operated by Indian River County and named after the late fishing guide Joe Middleton, who ran Middleton Fish Camp. The shoreline is studded with hundreds of spectacular bald cypress trees strung with Spanish moss, some of which grow quite a distance out into the lake. Meet at the boat ramp at Middleton Fish Camp on the West side of the lake. Paddles in the water at 9:00 am.
Bring PFD, whistle, water, bug spray, sunscreen, and snacks.
As always, all are welcome to gather for lunch after our paddle, at the Marsh Landing restaurant in Fellsmere.
