Paddling St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park

Details
This State Park Preserve is a classic Florida barrier island. Accessible only by boat, and it is worth the ride. The preserve is a favorite of nature students interested in learning about the native flora and fauna of Florida barrier islands. The kayak trail is 4.2 miles long and meanders through mangrove estuaries and maritime hammocks where you can see the plant and animals that make their home at the park. Wading birds such as blue heron, white ibis and snowy egrets are common along the trail, and there is a good chance you will view osprey flying overhead. We'll stop at the south beach access point to park our kayaks for a short walk over to the beautiful park beach.
There is an honor box to pay entrance fee to the park of $2 per kayak.
We will launch from Cove Road Park at 9 am. - parking is limited.
Bring PFD, whistle, water, sunscreen, bug spray, snacks.
As always we will plan on lunch after our paddle at a local restaurant. All are welcome.
AND REMEMBER EARLY IS ON TIME.
