CRACKER CREEK - Spruce Creek Paddle, 1795 Taylor Rd., Port Orange, FL 32128

Details
We will launch from Cracker Creek a Historical site and paddle out and back, on Spruce Creek. (no shuttle). I have arranged for the gate to the property to be opened at 8:30 am. Everyone must check in when arriving to sign a liability waiver and pay a launch fee. (I have negotiated a discount on the launch fee from $8 to $5). We have been given permission to use property facilities, picnic area, etc., if we wish.
Bring wheels to transport your kayak from parking area to launch area. Also bring PFD, whistle, water, snacks, bug spray and sunscreen.
Parking area is outside the gate.
As always, after our paddle we will meet for lunch at a local restaurant.
All are welcome.
AND REMEMBER EARLY IS ON TIME.
DIRECTIONS - (note: GPS may not be accurate).
From Rt.95 take Taylor Rd. West. Watch on the right for a small Brown Historical sign for The Gamble Historical Site, turn left onto dirt road to Historical site. (There is no signage for Cracker Creek). Follow dirt road till you see sign for Cracker Creek at fork in road then bare right to parking.
ABOUT - (from their website) Cracker Creek is a privately owned and operated eco-tourism business offering individual canoe/kayak launches or rentals, eco-pontoon, and Gamble Place tours, as well as facility rental for group gatherings and events.
Several historic buildings on site have been renovated over the past decades, while still preserving their original character and appearance. Cracker Creek is located on the original 20-acre homestead of Roland "Rollie" F. Johnson caretaker for the James Gamble Estate. Gamble was a founder of the Proctor & Gamble Company.
