SpaceBrewery goes to Kocherlball – Munich’s Most Bavarian Morning

Details
This Sunday, we’re trading satellites for traditional music and sunrise picnics. Join us for a relaxed early morning meetup at the Kocherlball, one of Munich’s most charming and unique events.
Date: Sunday, July 20
Arrival Time: Between 7:00 and 7:30 AM (Kocherlball last between 6 and 10 am)
Meeting Point: Near the Chinese Tower, close to the main dance area
Dress Code: Tracht (Dirndl or Lederhosen) encouraged but not required
The Kocherlball began in the 1800s as a pre-dawn gathering for Munich’s domestic workers. Today, it’s a beloved celebration of local culture, with live music, dancing, and breakfast in the park – all before most of the city is awake.
We’ll be arriving as the event is in full swing. No schedule, no pressure – just:
- A quiet morning picnic
- Optional dancing and people-watching
- A chance to meet fellow SpaceBrewery folks in an unexpected setting
- A slow start to Sunday, the Bavarian way
Look for a space-themed pin, patch, or small item – we’ll each wear or place something space-related so we can find one another easily.
What to bring:
- A blanket or something to sit on
- Coffee, tea, or breakfast snacks (or grab something on-site)
- A space-themed goodie to help us find each other
Whether it’s your first Kocherlball or your tenth, come as you are – in Tracht or not – and start the day with something lighthearted and a little different.
