Little Big Econ - Lockwood Blvd (5.5 miles)

We hiked the Barr St to Kolokee Trail portion of Little Big Econ in the past. This time we turn west and hike out to Lockwood blvd. For part of the hike we will be hiking on a high ridge overlooking the Econ River. We will also be walking on one of the longest set of planks that you might find in central Florida before we hit Lockwood drive. This is an out and back hike. We will take a long break at Lockwood.

This is a 5.5 mile hike of moderate difficulty. Bring sunscreen, insect repellent, hydration, snacks, and PPE with you.

DIRECTIONS TO ECON RIVER TRAIL BARR STREET TRAILHEAD

From Lowe's on Hwy 50 and I-95, take 50 West all the way through Bithlo to Hwy 419, Chuluota Rd. Turn right on 419 through Chuluota across the Econ River. At the traffic light turn right on Lockwood Road. Continue to the end of Lockwood Road and turn right on hwy 426, Geneva Dr., about 0.75 miles to Barr Street. Park in the Parking area on the right side of the road.
