Details:
Presently, the trails are in tremendous condition. It’s mostly dry out there, and even the drainage culverts are bone dry. So, let's get out and hike Tosohatchee WMA before this place gets wet again.

We will be hiking a trace of a lollipop having two sticks, on the orange blazed Florida trail — the yellow blazed trail going back — out to the Tiger Branch campsite for a total distance of 7.2 miles. The 5 mile option will omit the jaunt out to the campsite This hike will be of moderate difficulty with some patches of rough terrain.

Getting There:
Entrance to Tosohatchee is at 3365 Taylor Creek Road in Christmas. From I-95 and Hwy 520 in Cocoa, take Hwy 520 west past the Beeline. About a mile and a half past the Beeline turn right on Taylor Creek Road (look for sign for Tosohatchee Wildlife Management Area.) Take Taylor Creek Road about three miles to the Tosohatchee preserve entrance.

We will meet at the visitor's center just a 1/10 of a mile in from the entrance to Tosohatchee on Taylor Creek road. You will see a green Subaru where I will be parked. There is a $3 parking fee per vehicle payable at the visitor's kiosk. A handy map of the area can also be picked up here.

We will have our orientation there, and then we will carpool out 4.5 miles to the starting point of our hike on Powerline drive.

Over 90% of this hike will be under dense, canopied forest. But, don't forget to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, hydration, snacks, and PPE. We will be taking one long break at the midpoint of our hike at Tiger Branch camp site.
