Securing the Network Control, Data, and Management Planes with Zero Trust
Details
This will be a hybrid meeting, both in person and online. The virtual link will be provided in the description below as we get closer to the meeting date.
Summary: This presentation explores the implementation of Zero Trust Architecture
(ZTA) in routing and switching network infrastructure and protocols to
enhance security across the control, data, and management planes. It covers
strategies for securing routing and switching protocols, MPLS VPNs, and
segment routing paths, preventing unauthorized access, spoofing, and traffic
interception. Key topics include network systems engineering, traffic
analysis for Zero Trust implementation, in-band and out-of-band network
management, diodes, micro-segmentation, secure visualization and
instrumentation, and AI/ML-driven traffic analysis for anomaly detection.
Attendees will gain insights into integrating Zero Trust principles into
existing and new network infrastructures and ensuring network infrastructure
resilience against evolving cyber threats.

Join SpaceCoastSec at 6:30PM EST for an in-person gathering of local cybersecurity professionals, enthusiasts, and curious learners. Each meetup features a speaker discussing a timely infosec topic, as well as open discussion time before and after the presentation for casual banter and friendly networking. Our sessions are informal, inclusive, and completely free—no matter your experience level or background. Come learn, share ideas, ask questions, and stay updated on the latest trends in cybersecurity as part of Brevard County’s growing information security community.
Our monthly in-person meetups are held on the 2nd floor of Building 17 on the EFSC Melbourne campus unless otherwise stated here on Meetup.
