Let's Meet at The Harvey!
Details
I discovered a cool new spot in Chamblee called The Harvey. They just opened last summer and I love this place.
Now, the never-ending challenge is finding a spot where we can hear each other. This may be quiet – Sundays are typically pretty chill – but March Madness is going on so who knows? (This is a sports bar)
Because of this challenge, I’m going to take a similar approach as I did when we met at The Ranger Station. Instead of a full group presentation, we'll divide into three or four smaller groups which can huddle together and discuss the material.
What material? Great Political Thinkers: Plato to the Present.
Don't worry – we're not going to try to tackle the whole book. I'm going to prepare some primary source excerpts on index cards. Each group will get different cards. We'll set up different "stations" in the space and after a group discusses a text for, say, 15 or 20 minutes, we'll move to the next station, rearranging the groups along the way. So you'll be able to discuss a few different topics with different people.
