This is intended as a 101-style class for Computer-Aided Design, using Autodesk Fusion. Autodesk Fusion is a standalone CAD suite that can be installed on Windows and MacOS (there appears to be no Linux support). No knowledge of CAD is required, but general experience using a computer and the internet is very helpful.
For this class, we'll learn the following:

  • Navigating Fusion's User Interface
  • Navigating the 3D space
  • Creating sketches
  • Creating solids from a sketch
  • Export your designs for 3D printing or laser cutting

Prior to the workshop, please create an account with Autodesk at https://accounts.autodesk.com/register
The process for getting the Hobbyist License for Fusion roughly follows this:

  1. https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal -> Get Autodesk Fusion for personal use
  2. Give them your email address
  3. Give some more information
  4. Eventually you'll be able to download
