Building Spark as a Service: In this talk Richard Conway will describe how his company Elastacloud built a “Spark as a Service” called Brisk in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. He’ll decompose the infrastructure challenges they had, how they extended Spark to use the best bits of Spark and the best bits of the cloud. Richard will cover how Spark has been able to address some of the key problems they have helped support with in diagnosing performance and server data in the cloud which were possible but more difficult to accomplish with Map-Reduce.

Datastax will also be presenting about their excellent work integrating Spark and Cassandra
