Summer Solstice Nidra & Tea Tasting Ceremony with Green Thread Circle
Details
During the Summer Solstice, we join together to share our gratitude for the prior season and welcome in the new one. These ceremonies include an energy-cleansing upon arrival, time to set up your Nidra nest, and a brief welcome and settling in. Once everyone is settled, we enjoy a tea tasting representing the energies of the outgoing season and partake in a gratitude practice. The first tea tasting is followed by a 60-75 minute Yoga Nidra meditation. Upon arising from the Nidra, we partake in a final tea blend reflective of the newly arriving season and close out the session with a final ritual to solidify our intentions for the season.
Attendees do not need to have any experience with yoga, meditation, or tea to attend this event. All teas are herbal and naturally caffeine-free. Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation, and participants should be able to sit or lie comfortably with limited movement for up to an hour or more. Yoga mats, bolsters, and eye pillows will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring any blankets, pillows, or other items that will help them be comfortable resting for an extended time. No special attire is required; lounge clothes or pajamas are welcome. During meditation, the pulse slows, and some may feel chilly. A sweater, a pair of socks, or an extra blanket may be helpful.
I have an email automation with information in advance of the event once people register. Here is the informantion from the first email they get:
About the Event
This event is intentionally exclusive, offering just a few spots each season. We encourage arriving at least 15 minutes early so you have time to set up your space and mingle with fellow participants. Any supplies for intention setting or gratitude practices will be provided during the event. After the close of the ceremony, participants may continue to mingle, enjoy more tea, and purchase additional satchels of the blends to take home. While we encourage lingering and relaxing after the event is over, I begin cleanup 15 minutes after the event so I can be home before I turn into a pumpkin.
About the Location
This event takes place at Spark of Divine Healing Center in downtown Vero Beach, Florida. It is tucked into the corner of the plaza, with ample parking available both outside and on the street. The address for the event is 1789 Old Dixie Hwy, Vero Beach, FL 32960 and you can find directions here.
About the Tea
Seasonal tea blends are curated for each event and sourced from herbalists and tea shops nationwide. All blends during the event will be caffeine-free. Participants should make the facilitator aware of any edible plant allergies. Each participant will receive a card that lists the specific tea blends and where they can purchase more if they would like to. Tea will be prepared with filtered water and served alongside optional local honey.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative yoga practice that brings the body to a complete state of relaxation. Students will sit or lie in a still and comfortable position for the duration of the class and be led through a series of guided meditation practices. The order of these meditations encourages students to relax deeper and deeper through the body, breath, and mind. This class is suitable for anyone who can comfortably sit in a chair or lay for an extended time.
Yoga Nidra is deeply restful and elicits the same Theta and Delta brain wave patterns humans experience in deep sleep and REM. Consistent Yoga Nidra practice has been shown in studies to help alleviate symptoms of stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and reduce headaches and physical pain. Yoga Nidra can reduce breathing and heart rates slightly, lowering the body's temperature.
What Should You Bring?
Tea, ceremonial supplies, bolsters, and eye pillows will be provided. Dress for rest; there is no need for athletic wear in this quiet and still class; loungewear or even pajamas are suitable. Please bring at least a yoga mat and blanket, and feel free to bring any extra blankets, pillows, fluffy socks, sweaters, or props to build your Nidra nest and keep you warm during the Nidra portion of the ceremony. If you are known to snore or doze off, I recommend bringing an extra pillow or yoga blocks to use with your bolster to elevate your torso.
June 20th 6-8pm | $45 per person
