Two Truths and a Lie Speed Dating (Inaugural): Troy

Buy food and drink.

A new approach to "Speed Dating," broadening our friend circles, and "maybe" connecting with someone.

12 minute rounds. A 2 minute "break" between rounds to allow for "notes" (bring a pen).

Both will share their pre-prepared "Two Truths and a Lie" and have some interaction.

People will be selected from the "waiting list" based on many factors including a mix of ages. And will be moved to "going."

Being added will not be in order of sign up.

Hosts will not participate.

The person makes three statements about themselves—two true, one false—and other guesses the lie, revealing surprising facts and fostering connection in a fun way (e.g., "I've traveled to 10 countries," "I speak fluent French," "I have a pet snake").

The speaker reveals the lie, often followed by a brief explanation of the truths.

Make Lies Believable: Choose a lie that sounds plausible, not something obviously untrue.

Use Specifics: Incorporate interesting details in your truths (e.g., "I once met a celebrity," "I can play the guitar").

Mix it Up: Vary your statements with experiences, skills, or personal quirks.

Keep it Light: The aim is fun and getting to know each other, so don't get too serious.
