1/13: Every DuckDB Spatial Function
Details
We will do the perfectly sane thing and go through every single last DuckDB spatial SQL function over this 13 event syllabus.
- 17:30 - Arrive. Name, and what you map. Newcomers first.
- 17:50 - Recap: one person reruns last session's challenge from the saved map.
- 18:00 - Functions. Each one: a volunteer reads the plain-English line, everyone types it in Dekart, we look at the map.
- 18:30 - Atlanta challenge. Pairs. Save and share the map link.
- 18:50 - Adopt next session's functions. Then drinks.
Let's try this, happy to adapt as we go. The point is to get fluent in spatial SQL.
Dekart have been kind enough to support this effort with a free workspace. Send me your email in the event chat and I'll add you to it. It is a really easy way to get to know spatial SQL as you will see the results of your prompts on the map immediately. It also comes with the /geoSQL Claude skill so you can drive it with AI. Demo here.
