Humans want connection.

A good communicator is good at connecting before anything else.

In front of a group, a very common mistake is to behave a little bit like a child reciting his lessons in front of the class. He tries to make the teacher happy, and for that, the child focuses on saying all the right things.

A good communicator takes you anywhere else. She doesn't speak in front of you, she speaks to you. You feel included, welcomed, valued.

You matter much more than a lesson to recite or information to give. This makes you feel good and you're happy to listen.

Are we training public speaking? No, better than that: we're training communication.

Outdoors, it's summer.

Telling anecdotes, because humans are storytellers.

This is another fundamental tip: on the difficult-to-listen-to spectrum, stories are on the easy end.

We'll meet outside Green Park Station, by the statue, and walk in search of a place. Expect sitting on the grass, or standing.

Beware: I won't renew my meetup subscription at the end of the month. Join the Whatsapp group or contact us to keep in touch. We will create a group on an alternative platform shortly.

NB: This video about Speed Public Speaking was made 12 years ago. Today, I share for free, when I feel like it.
