English-Speaking Canal du Midi Bike Ride & Picnic – Toulouse to Grisolles

Let’s enjoy the sunshine together with a group bike ride along the Canal du Midi!
We’ll cycle from Toulouse Matabiau train station to Grisolles and back (about 2 × 30 km). Halfway, we’ll stop for a picnic by the canal, relax, and then return to Toulouse together 🙂

• When: Friday, August 30 – Departure from Toulouse Matabiau at 11:00 AM, back around 4:00 PM (depending on our pace and breaks)
• Distance & pace: About 60 km in total. This is a relaxed ride, not a race! At an easy pace (around 15 km/h), it’s about 2 hours each way, with a picnic in the middle 🥪
• Beginner-friendly: The focus is on enjoying nature and good company. If you feel 60 km might be too much, you can always catch a train back with your bike: there are train stations all along the canal! (Just remember to reserve a spot for your bike on the TER website in advance)
• What you’ll need: Be comfortable cycling at a calm pace, and make sure your bike is in good enough condition for the distance. Bring enough water, food for the picnic, and anything you need to stay comfortable 🚴‍♀️🌳
