Welcome to Speakers Cafe – A Friendly Space to Grow Your Public Speaking Confidence
Looking to become more confident in speaking up, whether in front of a group, at work, or in everyday life? Speakers Cafe is a relaxed, welcoming club designed to help people overcome their fear of public speaking and develop essential communication skills.
What to Expect:
Each session is informal, supportive, and practical. You’ll get a chance to speak in small groups or to the room (only if you want to!), take part in light, fun exercises, and receive friendly feedback. Whether you're a complete beginner or want to sharpen your skills, you’ll feel right at home.
Typical Agenda:
- Warm welcome and introductions
- Confidence-building exercises
- Short talks, storytelling, or fun challenges
- Encouraging feedback and discussion
- Optional opportunities to speak each week
What to Bring:
Just yourself! A notebook and pen can be useful, but not essential. Most importantly, bring a willingness to have a go and support others.
How to Find Us:
We meet Over the Yard Arm, Abbeydale Rd S7 from 7–9pm. Look for the friendly group with a sign that says "Speakers Cafe" – or just ask at the bar!
Come as you are. No pressure, no expectations – just real people building real confidence, one step at a time.
This event if Free for the first two sessions

"My gratitude isn't just to Lee for being so lovely, but to each and everyone of you who makes this group such a safe and supportive space as well ❤️" Sha
"Thank you, Lee, for the invaluable support and guidance you’ve provided.
I find public speaking particularly challenging and intimidating, I truly appreciate how you’ve encouraged me to take on tasks outside my comfort zone. Your support and mentorship have had a meaningful and positive impact on my confidence and development.
I’d also like to mention that the other group members I’ve met so far have been incredibly welcoming, friendly, and supportive, which has made my experience even more positive and encouraging." James
