Master the Fundamentals of Public Speaking (4 Week Course)

Join the experienced and high achieving members of the Speakers of Croydon for a four week introduction course to public speaking.

More than ever, today’s workforce needs the essential skills that come with being good communicators. But great speakers aren’t born that way, they practice their way to extraordinary.
Speechcraft is an extended workshop on communication and leadership where the participants learn about various aspects of communication and leadership and are supported by a team of presenters and mentors and guided by a coordinator.
Speechcraft is also the quickest means by which people can jump right into the process of improving their speaking skills. Designed for non-Toastmasters, this series of educational sessions covers a number of topics that play a part in good public speaking, including the following:

• Take the Terror Out of a Talk
• Speech Organisation
• Constructing a Speech
• How to Relate to Your Audience
• How to Utilise Gestures
• Vocal Variety
• Using Visual Aids
• Effective Speech Evaluation

This program comprises 4 weekly sessions starting from 9 January 2024 to 30 January 2024. Three of the sessions will be in-person and one will be on Zoom.
To allow more time to support attendees, we keep the workshops small (10 people maximum).

WHEN?
There are four two-hour meetings. The dates are:

• Session 1: Tuesday 9 January 2024

• Session 2: Tuesday 16 January 2024

• Session 3: Tuesday 23 January 2024

• Session 4: Tuesday 30 January 2024

WHERE?
The in-person meetings will take place at:

The virtual meeting will take place via ZOOM and login details will be provided ahead of the meeting.

Participants are expected to be online/at the venue at 7.15 pm for a 7.30 pm prompt start.
