A Trip To Europe: European Union Open House

Details

Want to get out and get away from it all without leaving town? Then come to the European Union Open House this Saturday, May 10th! This free day-long cultural event offers tours of embassies from across the European Union. For more details, please visit Participating EU Embassies.

To view a map of the event, please visit EU Open House .

WHERE TO MEET / GETTING THERE

We're meeting at 9:30 AM outside the Van Ness/UDC Metro. Take the Red Line to Van Ness - UDC. Then exit the station on the west side. Go to the Starbucks at 4250 Connecticut Ave. NW. I will be sitting at a table outside the Starbucks. I am a white woman with long curly dark hair who wears glasses. I carry a walking stick and will have a snakeskin purse. If you have trouble finding me or are running late, please call or text me at 202-802-3238.

For info about Metro service adjustments for this weekend, please visit Weekend Track Work: Metro .

Driving is not recommended, because parking is expensive and difficult to find.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

I will take a COVID test the morning of the event and post the results. If I test positive or am sick, I will stay home and isolate. If I test negative and am well, I will be there. The event will happen either way.

If the forecast calls for heavy rain and/or thunderstorms, I will cancel the event.

There will be lots of lines at this event, lots of stairs at the embassies, and lots of walking outdoors. Bring sunscreen, water, and noise-canceling headphones/anything else you need to counter overstimulation. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. If you have mobility issues or get easily dehydrated, you may wish to sit this event out. It is hot and humid this time of year in DC.

See you soon,

Jenny
