Research Night: Technology in Public Spaces
Details
Thank you for your interest in the Unconference. Due to unforeseen issues with the venue booking, we have to reschedule this event to 2026. However, we have something equally exciting planned for you on the 12th of November.
Together with artist collective .zip, we will host a research night that includes a hands-on workshop about smart doorbells by Roos Groothuizen.
Roos Groothuizen is a media artist who cares about digital human rights. In her own practice, and within the art collective Telemagic, she researches the human side of invisible algorithms, information filters, and unfair distribution. Who is in control over what we perceive?
Agenda of the evening
18:00 – 19:30: Open Mic Research Presentations
Are you researching/reimagining or building projects that involve technology in public spaces? Share your ideas and connect with like-minded people! Sign up for a presentation slot (~15 min) or bring your USB and jump in spontaneously.
19:30 – 20:30: “Make Your Own Doorbell” Workshop by Roos Groothuizen
What would a smart doorbell look like if it was designed with a human-forward mindset?
Build the prototype of your dreams at this continuous design lab. Or ring the doorbell to ask 'concerned neighbours' for their advice…
20:30 – 21:00: Drinks
IMPORTANT RSVP: We will have limited spots available for the workshop. Please register by sending an email to hello@zipspace.nl.
