Expert Talk: Ecosystems for Writers

Details
Join the Speculative Literature Foundation’s San Francisco Bay Area Chapter for another Expert Talk on “Ecosystems for Writers." We are welcoming Clayton Anderson, a Bay Area naturalist and environmental educator, to talk about the science of ecosystems and answer your questions about birds, bees, and everything in between. We hope this event will help strengthen the worldbuilding and character development potential in all our stories.
This Zoom event has a suggested donation of $10. No one will be turned away for lack of funds; please message the organizers if you'd like to attend but cannot contribute. Zoom links will be emailed via Meetup to all RSVPed members the day of the event.
The event will be co-hosted by Jasmine H. Wade, Becca Gomez Farrell, and Audrey T. Williams. It is co-sponsored by Ancestral Futures.
CLAYTON ANDERSON is an environmental educator and professional artist who became a naturalist and birder as a child, although he didn’t get his first pair of binoculars until graduating from high school. Bay Nature magazine recently awarded him with an Environmental Education Hero Award. Clay worked his way through San Jose City College, then transferred to San Jose State University, graduating with a B.A. in Drawing and Painting. He has worked with a number of environmental education organizations, including California State Parks and Recreation, East Bay Regional Park District and The Oakland Museum.
