Let's welcome 2026 with an a-la-carte hike + cookout in Rhinebeck!

You can hike one, two, or all 3 trails. Or, you can hike none trails and just show up for the cookout around 1:00.

10:00 - Burger Hill - 0.8 miles/moderate difficulty
11:00 - Ferncliff Forest - 2 miles/moderate-easy
12:15 - Poets' Walk - 2 miles/moderate-easy

We'll meet first at Burger Hill for a steep (but short!) huff to the top for arguably the most spectacular unobstructed view of the Catskills anywhere. We'll chill a bit, then head down to the parking lot for a nip from the Tailgate Bar.

Then it's on to Ferncliff Forest 8 minutes away, where we'll hike to the firetower (and up if you like, for a closer view of the Catskills). Then another nip back at the parking lot.

From there, Poets' Walk is just 5 minutes away. This trail gets muddy, so wear your clodhoppers. Back at the parking lot I'll fire up the grill and we'll enjoy whatever you bring to share--hopefully more than just food!
