For some of us this will be day 2 of a weekend rock climbing at Lake Tahoe. So we hope everyone else will join us for swimming and sunning at the Emerald Pools on the beautiful Yuba River.
Take a break from the heat and come wade and swim in the Yuba River. For the more adventurous there are several ledges on the rocks surrounding the pools from which we can jump. Some of us may also try our rock climbing skills and attempt to climb the cliffs first.

What to bring:
Footwear (Shoes, good sandals, or water shoes for splashing through the river gorge and climbing the rocks, maybe even your climbing shoes?)
Swimsuit/Shorts
Water, Snacks, Lunch
Towel
Sunscreen
Notes:
The hike is fairly short and moderate but it's over uneven rocky terrain and there is a steep descent down to the river gorge itself where there is a nice beach to hang out and go exploring. The a water may be a little cold for some (like me) so a rash guard or thin wetsuit top may help to keep some of the chill out.
Directions:
From HWY 80, exit CA-20 towards Nevada City.
After 4.2 miles, turn right on to Bowman Lake Road.
At 1.5 miles, cross the bridge over the Yuba River and park at the turnout on the side of the road about 100 meters past the bridge. Trailhead is across the road.
