Today we will hike at Jug Handle State Natural Reserve. This is a 5 mile hike that takes you up to a pygmy forest and more flowers. It is short but after that we will travel further north up to Mackerricher state park and hike out to some tide pools, and seal watching spots. there is also 1 and 1/2 mile hike around Cleone lake.
On the way back if you take hwy 20 there is a Jackson demonstration forest that has some hiking and we can check that out as well. In the town of Fort Brag there is a model train display, brewery and lots of nice restaurants.
Camping is available at KOA at Manchester beach. The KOA provides kamping ( not a typo) cabins, tent and RV sites. I suggest that you stay at the KOA and share a cabin with friends. The cabins sleep 4 adults. If traveling from the Bay area you may want to stay Friday night as well. You will need to bring your own food and bedding and make your own reservations. Call

I usually just google KOA at Manchester beach.
On Sunday we will do Van Damn State park, and go further north to explore MaKerriker state park and some model trains in Fort Bragg that are worth seeing. We can also do a moderate 5 mile hike at Jug Handle nature preserve.
Please be aware that you are responsible for your own camping arrangements and safety while on one of my events.
If you can only hike on Saturday or Sunday but not both days please post in comments which hike you can do.
I suggest that you reserve soon as this can fill up quickly.
You are welcome to stay elsewhere or just drive up for 1 day if that works better for you.
