Musicjelly at Spitzbiz

June's 15 minute speakers are Ben Hardy & Zahara Muñoz, founders of groundbreaking interactive audio/visual music experience, Muscijelly.

For the past 3 years Musicjelly have been filming a diverse selection of musicians, percussive dancers, vocalist and random sounds of life from around the world.

Using these individual clips they've created an extensive library of audio/visual loops which participants draw from to create their own weird and wonderful combinations. From orchestral-punk to flamenco-beatboxing. You direct the performance.

Musicjelly have painstakingly synchronised all of these clips in both key and tempo so that no matter what combination you select, it never sounds jarring or out of key.

This means you don't need a background in musical theory or to have ever even touched an instrument to create your own pieces using Musicjelly!

Musicjelly removes all of the usual stumbling blocks of performing music and lets the users focus on the important bits - experimenting with creating music and having fun.

Musicjelly has been shown across the UK, including a fantastically popular recent exhibition at the Barbican centre. Now they're working on bringing Musicjelly to the world!

Ben and Zahara will be talking about their experiences in creating Musicjelly, as well as giving a live demo. All in 15 minutes!
