Date and time: April 3, 2026. Start time 9:00 am
Terrain: There will be some pavement connecting riders to the trails. Trails have some short sections with some larger rocks and loose surface. There are short steep climbs and downhills.
Distance: Approximately 12 miles
Duration: 3 hours
Pace: 7- 12 MPH on the flat and pavement sections of the ride. Probable speeds around 3 MPH while climbing Beacon Hill.
Description: This is a very Hilly ride with long off-road sections. The climb up Beacon Hill is approximately 4 miles long with a lot of flat sections for recovery during the climb. It does not require advanced offroad skills, but it is not a ride for beginners. There are sections that will require skills more related to an intermediate mountain bike ride. (Dirt trail surface is more difficult than paved roads and it will fatigue you more and faster than you might experience on the pavement). You will not be able to ride this ride on a standard road bike. Gravel bikes or mountain bikes with tires 50 mm or wider will perform best. You will need to be comfortable riding some distance in dirt/gravel. Riders will need to negotiate sharp single-track turns, large rocks and tree roots.
