New England has a long history of tales of ghosts, witches, and unexplained events. Witches Wood (Beverly Commons) supposedly got its name from the infamous Salem Witch Trials. However, historians have suggested that supernatural occurrences began two decades before.
Trail: Common Hill Loop
Elevation: 216 ft
Distance: 3.3 Miles
Time: 2 hours
Directions: From Route 128/Exit 17/Grapevine Road. Go south on Grapevine Road/Hart Street toward Beverly Farms. In 1.25 miles, turn right onto Greenwood Avenue.
Parking: Please Note that street parking near the gate is only for local residents. Parking is available on the right side of Greenwood Ave before the gate.
