Description: Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Haverhill, Massachusetts, Winnekenni Castle and its surrounding park unveil a hidden gem that captivates both locals and tourists alike. Its charm lies not just in its captivating beauty, but also in its rich history and welcoming atmosphere.

Let’s enjoy a refreshing winter hike through the historic grounds of Winnekenni Park in Haverhill, MA. We’ll be traveling at a comfortable, conversational pace, taking in the views of Kenoza Lake and the castle architecture while connecting with the group. The hike will last between 2 and 2.5 hours, covering approximately 5 miles depending on weather conditions.

  • Trail Information: An easy-to-moderate network of wide, unpaved carriage paths and wooded trails The terrain features rolling hills with a maximum elevation of approximately 335 feet.
  • What to Bring:: This is a winter hike, so microspikes are required, since the trail will probably be icy. Please dress warmly in layers with winter boots, coat, hat, gloves and plenty of water & snacks.
